Life Choices Pregnancy Center - Poway, CA
News Update - January 2011
In December 2010, Life Choices was transformed into Santa's workshop, as gifts arrived from community churches, and then distributed to adopted families. The generosity of Christmas donations has left the center well supplied going into the New Year, and they were able to share many gifts with their sister pregnancy center in Tijuana as well.
Life Choices wishes to thank you for your faithful support throughout the year, and all the knitted creations and Christmas baby stockings were a special blessing for the holidays!
The women of the Wed morning Bible Study helped prepare over 2000 winter newsletters for mailing. Please take a copy from the rack in the foyer, as well as updated prayer requests.
As 2011 begins, plans for the 5th annual fundraiser banquet in April are underway. Look for upcoming information and opportunities to help.
High school students are invited to participate in an essay contest for cash scholarships, answering the question, 'Why is abstinence before marriage the best choice for teens today?' Go to www.LifeChoicesPoway.org for contest information. Entries are due by March 1, 2011.
ON-GOING NEEDS: Items are continuously needed for the babies. A collection box is in the hallway, across from the office, where you can put your donations and we will deliver the items for you. Ideas for donations include:

- New or gently used Summer / Fall clothes, sizes 12 mos. to 4T (including socks & shoes)
- New or gently used boys' clothes, sizes N - 18 mos.
- New or gently used girls' clothes, sizes 3T - 4T
- Cotton knit sleepers, sizes N - 24 mos. (especially sizes 12-24 mos.).

Abraxas High School - Poway, CA
Monetary donations are collected by different Bible study groups each month to purchase breakfast and lunch food items for the children attending Abraxas High School. Many children do not get breakfast or lunch at home, nor do their parents have the money to provide these meals.
A PCC volunteer purchases the food and delivers it to the Student Services Center once a month. Items purchased include milk, bread, peanut butter, cereal, fruit, juice drinks, instant soup, hot chocolate, etc. as well as paper plates, napkins, plasticware, and cups.
